Tri-M Music Honor Society
The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the international music honor society for middle/junior high and high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership.
Through more than 5,500 chartered chapters, Tri-M has helped thousands of young people provide years of service through music in schools throughout the world. Tri-M is a program of the National Association for Music Education.
Pace High School Chapter of Tri-M
The Pace High School Chapter of Tri-M was started in the Fall of 2010, primarily for a way to recognize the best and brightest students in the Pace High School Musical Arts Program.
Interested students must meet several academic, service, and musical requirements before they can submit an application. Those who meet these requirements must submit a completed Membership Application before the stated deadline each fall. Members who are chosen for induction are typically notified in late November, and are expected to attend and perform at the Induction Ceremony held in January of each year.
Students who are inducted into the Junior Tri-M Chapter at their middle school are eligible for high school membership, provided that they submit an application before the stated deadline.
What does Tri-M do?
Tri-M is a service organization that strives to raise awareness for music education in their school and surrounding community. Each year, the Pace High School Tri-M students serve to give back to our local community.
Our Tri-M students also serve as great advocates for music education. Many times throughout the year, our students visit local middle schools to teach private lessons, "sit in" during rehearsals, perform, and talk about why students should continue with their musical studies well through high school.
Tri-M is about collaboration, leadership, and creativity. Projects vary from year to year, and depend on the membership of the organization. If you think that you have a great idea for Tri-M to pursue, please consider submitting an application for membership in the fall. To learn more about Tri-M, consider visiting the Tri-M page on the National Association for Music Education website. You can also connect to Tri-M through Facebook and Twitter.
Anyone who is interested in contacting the Pace High School Chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society should contact the band director/faculty adviser.
