Meet
the
Directors

Phillip currently serves as the Director of Bands at Pace High School.  He received his Bachelor of Jazz Studies, Magna Cum Laude, at University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida and pursued his Bachelor of Science in Nursing with University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. Additionally, he received his Associate of Arts in General Studies, as well as Associate of Nursing from Pensacola State College in Pensacola, Florida.  He previously served as the Associate Director of Bands at Pace High School, before assuming his role as Director of Bands.

In addition to his responsibilities with The Pride of the Red, White & Blue, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band & Jazz Ensembles at Pace High School, he serves as the faculty adviser for the Pace High School Jazz Chapter of the Jazz Education Network. Additionally, Phillip is an active National Marching Band adjudicator with the Central States Judges Association, as well as an Indoor Percussion and Color Guard adjudicator with multiple competition circuits across the United States.

Phillip Michanowicz  
Director of Bands

Phillip’s previous experience in the performing arts includes performing in Drum Corps International with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, earning the Jim Ott Memorial Brass Title, and Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, earning the DCI World Championship, Jim Ott Memorial Brass Title, and John Brazale Visual Title.  While at University of North Florida, Phillip was the lead trumpet and ensemble assistant in the nationally known “Jazz Ensemble One”, performing with multiple professional Jazz musicians famous worldwide.  Currently, Phillip is currently on visual staff with Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as a visual designer and consultant for multiple high school and independent percussion ensembles across the United States, who have competed in Winter Guard International at the World Championships.

Phillip is a member of the Florida Music Educators Association, Florida Bandmasters Association, the National Association for Music Education, Jazz Education Network and Jazz Pensacola.

Ms. Donahoo is a 2013 graduate of the University of North Florida where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with an emphasis in percussion. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she was a member of the percussion ensemble, jazz ensemble, concert ensemble and served as President of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Collegiate Chapter 115.

Prior to completing her degree, Ms. Donahoo participated in Drum Corps International (DCI), as a member Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps, Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, and The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. She was a charter staff member and the Front Ensemble Caption Head for the Performing Arts Concepts, Inc. (PAC) group Ancient City Ensemble and led them to earn a placement in WGI Finals during their inaugural season, as well as the following year. Most recently, Ms. Donahoo was the Director of Bands at Gulf Breeze High School. She teaches private lessons for woodwinds and percussion, and is an active consultant for music programs across the Gulf Coast. This will be Ms. Donahoo's first year working with the Pace High Band & serves as the Tri-M Music Honor Society faculty advisor.

Associate Director of Bands
