Band Booster Committees

Chaperone Committee

Chair:

Duties: Maintain a list of qualified chaperones. Coordinate with Band Director for number of Chaperones required for each event/trip. Recruit chaperones and communicate times and other requirements as necessary. Coordinate replacements for chaperones that become unavailable.


Concession Committee

Chair:

Duties: Manage all aspects of running the concessions stands. Train workers in proper food handling. Direct cleanup of facilities and report broken or missing school equipment to the proper school administrator. Supervise the operation of stands during games or any other events in which the band boosters are serving. Purchase all food and supplies required to operate the stands and the cooking pit. Collect money and turn it over to the Treasurer.


Cooking Crew/Outdoor Prep Committee

Chair:

Duties: Supervise outdoor grill area in cooperation with the concessions management. This includes grilling of foods, French fry cooking, wrapping of foods cooked, hot chocolate preparation and any other food prep required outside the concession stand, regulating the supply of food cooked to the needs of the concession stand. Maintain gas bottles for grills including refill and storage. Clean up of area and storage grills and tables after events.


Fundraising Committee

Chair:

Duties: Analyze and evaluate fundraiser programs, to provide cash flow for events and overall band needs as directed by approved annual budget. Coordinate parent and student efforts to raise money for the band. Oversee the planning of fundraising events, collection of monies and recording of all transactions from purchases and sales. Turn all receipts in to the Treasurer.


Hospitality Committee

Chair:

Duties: Communicate with the Booster President, Band Director, Guard Director, and band staff to coordinate the efforts required for each event, including invitations, facility reservations, soliciting donations, and decorating the facility, etc. Direct the efforts of volunteers during setup. Coordinate year-end banquet, social events, parent night, orientation night, tailgate party, Rookie Camp, middle school(s) band event(s) and any other non-fundraising event recommended by the board or Band Director.


Information Committee

Chair:

Duties: To use as many different forms of communication to keep band booster members and parents up to date on all current and future needs and activities of the band.


Membership Committee

Chair:

Duties: Along with soliciting members for the booster club, this job includes receiving money for membership, transferring incoming monies to the Treasurer, and building a database of pertinent information on club members.


Pit/Front Ensemble Committee

Chair:

Duties: Drive the van and trailer to transport all Pit equipment and instruments. Supervise the loading and unloading of the equipment. Placing mats on stands for band to sit on.


Practice Watering Committee

Chair:

Duties: Arrange for removal of water and coolers from storage, preparing water (icing it down) and arranging to deliver water to the game partway into first quarter of football games and right after half time. Obtain garbage bags and supervise clean up at end of event.


Publicity Committee

Chair: TBA

Duties: Publicize the activities of the Band by utilizing local media including local newspapers, radio/TV stations, and local business organizations. Project a positive and active identity for the band, its activities, events, recognition, and students. Maintain message on Band Booster marquis on Highway 90.


Uniform Committee

Chair:

Duties: Distribution and collection of uniforms before and after all band functions. Prepare uniforms for cleaning as needed. Maintain computer program as a tracking system for uniforms. Coordinate with volunteers to maintain the washing and drying of (assigned) uniforms for each performance. Provide volunteers with care instructions. w/Old Uniforms: Coordinate fitting of uniforms for summer band to include shirts, shorts, and shoes. Prepare list for uniform ordering. Winter uniforms to include pants, jackets, dickies, gloves and hats. Coordinate repairs and maintenance of all uniforms including hemming and sewing of buttons, washing of gloves and dickies and any other minor repairs.
